Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Semans
held on Tuesday, the 11th day of August, 2015 in the Municipal Office
at Semans, Saskatchewan.

Signing of Declarations: Mayor and Councilors

Call to Order:
A quorum being present, Mayor Duane Linford, called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.

194/15  Anderson:  That the agenda be accepted as presented. Carried.

195/15 Fehr: That the minutes of the regular meeting of July 14th, 2015 be approved as read.    Carried.
Business Arising from Minutes:

Community Event Vendor’s Fee:
196/15 Anderson: That we donate back the Community Event Vendor’s Fee charged to the Centennial Committee in a show of good faith.      Carried.
197/15  D. Linford:  That the accounts be accepted as presented/attached.

Financial Reports: 
198/15  Bains:   That the financials be accepted as presented.
New Business:

Shannon Wage Review:
199/15 D. Linford: That we increase Shannon’s wage by $1.50.         Carried.
Signing Authority for Semans Cemetery:
200/15 D.Linford: That we give Shannon signing authority on the Semans Cemetery Accounts.    Carried.

Water Heater:
201/15 Anderson: That Shannon gets Actons to install a new water heater in the Town Shop.    Carried.

Part Time WTP Workers Hours:
202/15 D. Linford: That we give Shannon permission to adjust the part time water treatment plant workers hours as long as they are in agreement with the new hours.  Carried.
Heselwood’s Camper:
203/15 D. Linford: That we give Heselwood’s permission to park their camper on the lot across from they’re place under the condition that they maintain the lot year round.  Carried.
Town Truck:
204/15 Bains: That council will look and the town truck and make an informed decision after they assess the situation.        Carried.
Scrap Metal By The Train Tracks and At The Landfill:
205/15 D. Linford: That we call Ashley’s brother and get him in to remove the scrap metal as opposed have Chad and Tanner move and sort it all.     Carried.
Recyling Bins:
206/15 Bains: That Shannon advertise the two steel recycle bins over by the tracks on Kijiji and Facebook.
207/15 D. Linford: That we go ahead and book Municipal Utilities in to change the Greensands in both pressure vessels and the box filter.       Carried.
Ladner’s Tractors and Trailer:
208/15 D. Linford: That Shannon write Ladner’s a letter asking them to remove they’re tractors from town property and to move there trailer back from the road as it is impeding traffic on 3rd Ave.     Carried.
Decade of Champions:
209/15 H. Linford: That Shannon posts the pictures of the new Decade of Champions display on the web page.  Carried.
Tree In Front of Grant’s:
210/15 Bains: That Shannon contact SaskPower first and see if they will take care trimming it or cutting it down. Carried.
Street Repairs:
211/15 D. Linford: That we hold off on making a decision until we hear back from the RM.     Carried.
School Roof:
212/15 H. Linford: That Shannon call and arrange for SPF Roofing to come and give us a quote on the school roof. Carried.
Touchwood Hill Regional Landfill:
213/15 Bains: That Shannon call and see if Malcohm would be will to come to a meeting and answer some question for us, before we make any decisions.   Carried.
Fire Hall Expansion:
214/15 Fehr: That Shannon write the Fire Department a letter giving permission to cut down the four town trees north of the shop was the expansion as started.   Carried. 
215/15  D. Linford  Next meeting will be call of the chair.
216/15  D. Linford:  That the meeting be adjourned at 8:38pm.
